Congratulations to brother Scout Yatiman Yusof on the launch of his memoirs by President Halimah Yacob, our Chief Scout. Yatiman is a great friend who never fails to inspire one with his cheerful smile and humble demeanor. Yatiman led The Singapore Scout Association’s efforts (and second attempt) to host the World Scout Jamboree. Although our campaign was ultimately not successful, the teamwork, friendships and lessons learnt out Singapore on the map. Well done, old friend.

“Glad to attend the launch of Mr Yatiman Yusof’s memoir, titled Perjalananku – Dari Desa ke Likuan Kota (My Journey – From the Village to the Meandering City).
Mr Yatiman is an individual who has contributed greatly to both his community and the society at large, from his time as a teacher, journalist, and politician. Even to this day, he is contributing greatly to our nation’s diplomatic relations, in his role as Singapore’s High Commissioner (Non-Resident) to the Republic of Kenya.
His life and career have been nothing short of inspiring. I hope that his memoir will serve as a reminder to all future generations of the hard work and perseverance of the pioneer generation, who helped to build the foundation of this nation.”
