To commemorate the 200 years of the landing of Sir Stamford Raffles onto Singapore in 2019, SSA will be commemorating the event as well as remembering its Founder’s Day by organising an upscale 200 km trek.
Known as the Singapore Bicentennial Scout Trek, the trek will be held over several days and will end with a Carnival on 23 February 2019.
Some 5 000 Scouts are expected to gather and celebrate this joyous occasion. Our Guest-of-Honor, Minister Chan Chun Sing, will be walking the last leg of the Trek with 1000 scouts to the end point to officially open the carnival, where scouts can play games and practice their Scout craft.
Minister will also launch the Scouting Light App as part of our celebration. For your information, the Scouting Light App is a pre-cursor to SSA revamping our MSDS system.
Guild Members are invited to join this historic event. You are encouraged to wear the Guild T shirt or Chapter T shirt along with your chapter or national scarf.
